Nanostructural organization of thin films prepared by sequential dip-coating deposition of poly(butylene succinate), poly(?-caprolactone) and their copolyesters (PBS-ran-PCL)

In this work, we prepare and characterize multiphasic thin films containing poly(?-caprolactone), PCL, poly(butylene succinate), PBS, a poly (butylene succinate-ran-?-caprolactone) (PBS-ran-PCL) random copolyester. To that aim, were prepared by sequential dipping of silicon substrate into chloroform solutions the respective polymers. The preparation method resulted in with varying compositions PCL PBS components depending on initial concentration number steps employed for samples. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), grazing incidence X-ray scattering at wide angle (GIWAXS) scattering-type scanning near-field optical (s-SNOM) Fourier transform infrared nanospectroscopy (nano-FTIR) to obtained. As can dissolve all components, final composition film was always rich last deposited layer component. obtained semicrystalline complex axialitic or dendritic morphology dominant component (that one last) traces other whose presence location revealed s-SNOM/nano-FTIR.
